Overview

The two-day course Fundamentals of Upstream Petroleum Agreements has been produced to satisfy a perceived need in the upstream industry for a foundation course on this central subject. Chris uses his twenty-five years of experience in drafting, negotiating and implementing upstream petroleum agreements to present an overview of the most common and important agreements and to identify the really critical issues raised by each of them. The course is grounded in the technical and commercial reality of the upstream, using real agreements and real commercial situations as examples.
Delegates have commented that the course has led them from "the cradle to the grave" as far as Commercial Contracts are concerned and appeals to a broad cross section of industry professionals.

Qualifies for 10.75hrs CDP Points

Note : Chris P Thorpe has an MA and LLB in law from Magdalene College, Cambridge and trained as a barrister in London. He worked for eight years as an in-house lawyer for BP and Marathon. Since 1991 he has run his own upstream legal practice, C.P.Thorpe, which has acted for many upstream clients, both large and small. He has extensive experience of international upstream transactions, principally in the North Sea, the FSU, Africa and the Middle East.
